I started painting when I was around 7 years of age in New Jersey. When I was a little older, I sold a few paintings to friends and gave some away as gifts. In my early adulthood, I went into the food industry which included a catering business with my sister, Norma.

Food, cooking and artwork is a passion of mine.

In 1988, I moved from NJ to Florida and opened a clothing store. I continued painting for my own pleasure

and Florida provided me with the unlimited inspiration from the exotic foliage and sparkling water to the spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

My sister Norma, my nieces, Mom & Dad all moved to Florida in 1997.

Soon afterwards, Norma was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and within five days, passed away. My family and I were devastated. I needed some way to express my feelings and started painting intensely. I believe most of us knows or loves someone that has been affected by cancer. I am a cancer survivor and try to do a small part to help fund the Cancer Research Foundation.

I started selling my artwork at my clothing store. I sold the business and started traveling all over Florida

selling my artwork at juried, professional art shows in addition to my art gallery in Sebastian Florida.

The Seaside Jewelry & Gallery in Vero Beach Florida is my current endeavor.

Each painting is a part of my heart & soul. It eagerly awaits for me to pick up a brush and set it free. There are times when I don’t know what will be on canvas until I actually begin. I not only love to paint, I feel I have to paint.

Many of my paintings are restaurants, galleries and homes around the world. My clients and viewers of my art tell me that they love the colors and that looking at the art makes them feel peaceful and happy.

If I can provide a feeling of peace & happiness, then I can’t ask for more.

Thank you,

Trish Storey
